Phaedo by Plato
Socrates talks a lot about the soul and body with death. The soul is mentioned as being a she, and when the soul leaves a body, most are scared of what happens to her. Death can be something that is scary, or viewed differently by everyone. About philosophy and death, Socrates views that there is something more after death. He believes that there is something good to come from any evil of the world and ones body. His view also is that philosophers desire death, and they do not fear it. And that is his view on philosophy and death. I agree with Socrates on his view because I think that there is so much more from the body that can be gained when not in it. He brings up that the body requires so much, like food for example, and when the body does not need to focus on that anymore, and the soul can be free, then maybe there can be good experienced.
